Alberta Carriage Driving Association

The Alberta Carriage Driving Association (ACDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the equestrian discipline of carriage driving and the growing sport of Combined Driving. The Association hosts numerous events around the province and welcomes all level of drivers and all equine breeds.

ACDA members are sadded to learn of the passing of Ted Swendson, an active and enthusiastic supporter of the Alberta driving community. For more information on the life and legacy of Ted Swendson, click here.

Volunteer Opportunities

No horse? No problem!

If you enjoy being involved in horse-related activities or want to learn more about carriage driving, you may be interested in volunteering at an ACDA event.

2016 saw 16 clinics, 20 fun drives and 10 events hosted by ACDA Chapters across the province, so there’s lots of opportunity. We always need and appreciate volunteers to help as timers, announcers, gate keepers, runners, spotters and even grooms to work with the competitors.

Volunteering gives you a front line introduction to the ACDA and discipline of carriage driving. If you’re interested in volunteering or getting some more information, contact:
